The big thing around here for St. Patricks Day is the Southie parade. Every year South Boston holds an enormous St. Patty's Day parade on the sunday before March 17. The streets are filled with on-lookers from all over, completely decked out in green. Its so much fun to see what people show up in...talk about Irish spirit. The saying "Everyone is Irish on St. Patricks Day" holds true during the parade, however most of Southie is Irish. Its not even really all about the parade either, its about the parties before and after the parade. Good food and beer!
Over at 5minutes for Mom they are hosting a photo contest called Fun with Food. The winner will receive a $500 gift certificate for groceries!! How awesome is that?!? With the economy the way it is, who couldn't use some extra grocery money?! So here is my photo entry for the contest. That is chocolate sauce on his face at a restaurant. Now that is some Fun with Food!! Wish me luck!!
made an appearance at my house FINALLY??!!! The tooth fairy!! This is a few days late, he actually lost his first tooth sunday night but with my injury and his birthday i haven't gotten the chance to blog about it. I was amazed at how long it took for him to loose a tooth especially since he got his first tooth at 4 months! He wanted the $5 from the tooth fairy so bad, he was tieing dental floss around it and to a doorknob and shutting the door. When that didn't work he tied it to the faucet and would turn the water off really fast trying to pull it out!! He cracks me up...so resourceful! However, neither of those attempts worked. I ended up pulling it mostly out and let him finish it because he wanted to do it himself.
Seven years ago, was only a week after 9/11, and i gave birth at 1:12pm to a 7lb 60z baby boy after 25 long hours of labor.
