Friendship Rules

Did you know that there were rules to friendships? Apparently I didn't read that chapter in the book about life because I suck! Had I known I would've tried to follow along with the rules a little better, ie kiss your ass. But because I don't kiss anyones ass or allow people to walk all over me.....i failed in the friendship department.

Now onto the rules that I was so stupidly unaware of:

  1. Answer any and all text messages, voicemails, phone calls, and emails within 1 hour. Even if you are at a concert, at your child's school play, etc.

  2. If you don't talk to your friends for more than a week, consider it over!

  3. If your friends are nothing but nice to you and your kids, its not because they are your friends and thats how friends act....its because they are doing you a favor.

  4. If your friends are insulting you and attacking you, making you cry and feel like shit....they are just telling the truth. And you should continue to allow them to try to break you down.

  5. Always be available to hang out with your friends and be at their beck-and-call. Juggling your personal life, love life, and life as a mother is not as important.

  6. Be careful of the little things you say because a friend NEVER forgets and will always bring it up in the future to use against you....no matter how many times you've apologized.

  7. You must always attend friends functions, birthday parties, or just a night out even if your son has the Swine flu.

  8. Just because your "best" friend has slept with your kids father is no reason to hate her. After all, she is their Godmother.

  9. Don't try to plead your case and work things out because unless your are groveling at their feet, its a loss cause.

  10. Friendships are always one-sided and its usually not your side.

Now make sure that you follow all these rules strictly or your friends will break up with you. And you can be sure that they will now delete you from all social media sites no matter how long you've been friends.

I Swear I'm Not Obsessed

I do not own a laptop or a netbook or a blackberry or even an iPhone. Call me behind the times whatever but I do have a desktop. So the past couple days, I went down to the Cape(Cod) to visit my mother at her beach house and she doesn't have a computer down there or anything. So what should be a couple nice relaxing days by the beach is nothing of the sort.

I was losing my damn mind. I was having serious withdrawals being away from my computer. No seriously sweaty palms, fidgety, the works. I'm not even exaggerating, ask Gena and Jenna, they had to put up with my non-stop text messages. How is it that something I lived without owning up until about five years ago, I can't seem to live without now? I couldn't stand not being able to check my email and approve comments on my blog. What if by some miracle someone famous was trying to get a hold of me on twitter or something? What if I miss something so big and so huge, like Dooce visiting my blog?

Okay, so its all a little drastic, i know. But I couldn't even just google something real quick. And its not like I sit my ass in front of my computer all day either. I mean, seriously.....heh, who does that? Alright, so sometimes I do. Honestly though, I just like having the option to jump on the world wide web whenever I feel like it. Had I had a laptop or a netbook or anything, I would have been able to relax, even if i only used it for like 5 minutes. The option would be there.

As pathetic as this may sound, I left the Cape earlier than planned because I couldn't take it. I think most of it is in part due to BlogHer and how I feel like i have so much more that needs to get done before I go, ie. shopping. Before you start thinking that I am some blogging junky who really has no life other than her computer, let me just say that my mothers house on the Cape is only about an hour away from my house. No biggie. I tend to go down ALOT anyways. It's not like it was a real vacation.

So, I've come to the conclusion that I need a Netbook. Not a laptop, just a netbook. I don't need to upload my pictures or music or anything like that...I have all that on my desktop. I just need something that I can carry around with me and check my email and blog from. Thats all. I'm on the hunt for a Netbook, any suggestions?? I was looking at the cute Dell mini netbooks. Hmmm..

Rain, Rain Go AWAY!!!

If I never see another rain drop it will be too soon. Here in Boston we have had such unusually wet weather. We had 4....only 4 days of sunshine for the entire month of June. I have been to the beach only once. I'm starting to have withdrawals and go stir crazy. Seriously, I can't take it anymore.

I want a drought.
I want sunshine.
Where's Global Warming??!! At this point, I would welcome it.

Not only has it just been rainy, and cloudy, but it hasn't been all that warm either. Today started my vacation and I am praying for warm weather harder than I've ever prayed before. While the rest of the country is in a heat wave, I've been suffering with my galoshes and flooding. Damn ocean effect rain!

And not only is the weather depressing but the kids can't go outside. Which means we're couped up in the house and he's up my ASS! AAAAAHHHHH!!!! Where's the sun??!!
