Top 10 Reasons Why I Won't Win the Mother of the Year Award

10. I make him stop playing the Wii and get ready for school.

9. I hate the library. There I said it. I'll write a post later about this topic.

8. I refuse to play with him and his cars, wrestling men, pirates, etc. I've done this before and he ends up smashing everything into my hands and telling me I don't 'play' right.

7. Apparently I suck because I won't let him get a lizard. We have a cat. We have had hamsters, fish, and hermit crabs all of which croaked and all of which I had to take care of.

6. I missed basketball sign-ups.

5. I won't let him get a BB Gun. I'll end up the one getting shot in the ass...besides he's fricken 7.

4. I don't take him to birthdays parties of kids at school that I dont know. I've done it before, and I just stand there all awkward. Now, I make sure I know the parents that are going to be there.

3. I spend wayyy too much time blogging and trying desperately to ignore him as I type.

2. Because this is what I sound like in the morning: I Think I Missed My Calling

And the Number 1 reason why I Won't Win the Mother of the Year Award is.....

1. After hearing "Mama, Mama" over a million times, I have decided to change my name and not tell Hunter.

Viva Las Vegas!!

Last night, I went out and celebrated my newly Single life with my girls and some guy friends. And of course, we partied like rockstars. We went to two bars, had some yummy shots, and quite a few vodka-cranberries during the night. My ex had called me several times...its funny how they always want you back when they know you are out having fun and over them. Don't worry, I don't go back to my exes...ever. Your ex is your ex for a reason! Thats my motto.

So anyways, I crashed at my friend Angies house and somehow at the end of the night we ended up with a trip booked for Vegas in May!! How the hell did that happen? I've never been to Vegas before, so I'm super excited to go but we obviously didn't think it through....or at all. We were so impulsive. We both woke up this morning saying, "Dude, we're going to Vegas. Haha." Which ulitmately means I have 5 weeks to get my body into bikini shape!!

The Slanket- Review and Giveaway

*Closed*

I had this dilemma. I would sit at my computer desk blogging and I'd throw a blanket over myself, however my arms and upper body would always be cold. You know what its like. You can pull the blanket up, but since you're sitting up-right, well gravity works and the blanket falls. Well, my problem has been solved all thanks to a product called the Slanket. Its a blanket with sleeves. How cool does that sound?! Now, I have to honestly tell you that as I sit here typing this I am in fact wearing my Ruby Wine Slanket. For the past few days, I have been waiting anxiously for it to arrive, thinking of how great it will be to sit at my computer wrapped up in it. Well, I can tell you that it is just as wonderful as I had imagined. I really love the whole concept of this blanket. Being able to snuggle on the couch all wrapped up in a cozy Slanket with my hands free to use the remote, hold a drink, or even read a book without compromising my warmth. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? Hands down, its my favorite blanket that I own.

The Slanket is a gigantic comfy fleece blanket with sleeves. My body is completely covered and I can still use my hands. The Slankets come in a variety of colors, 11 to be exact and are very resonably priced. They even have the Slanket for kids, which I have a feeling I'm going to have to get at some point because I am not sharing mine! And my son is right now mad at me because I am "hogging" the Slanket.

Want to win your own Slanket right here on Good Golly Miss Blondie?? The wonderful people behind the Slanket have so graciously agreed to give one of Miss Blondie's readers their choice of Slanket!! Trust me, this is one giveaway you don't want to miss!

Handmade Wristlet Giveaway

As a mom bloggers we love etsy shops, right?! Well, I want to introduce you all to my favorite etsy shop. Roman McCall. I went to a "ladies night" here in my town that was hosted by the school and had lots of different vendors at. There was this one table that had been swarmed with people nearly the entire night, so by the end of the night I hopped on over to the table to take a look at their stuff. I absolutely FELL in love with their handmade products. They had a nice display of reversible belts, headbands, handbags, etc. and I ended up buying two of their reversible headbands. When I realized they had an etsy shop our conversation just flowed from there. The two women, Deanna and Martha, behind this etsy shop are wonderful women to work with. And because I like their products so much I wanted to introduce their shop to all of you. One of my favorite items (that they sold out of that night) are their fuzzy koozies. The pink ones are perfect for bachelorette parties!

This is from their shop: While our items are made to accessorize you with a funky flair, they are extremely practical. For example, our belts, headbands and scarfbands are reversible and the handbags have numerous pockets to help keep you organized.

Roman McCall has so graciously agreed to host a giveaway of one of their fabulous handmade items right here on Good Golly Miss Blondie. These amazing women even took it a step further and made something specifically for this giveaway.

One of you lucky readers has the chance to win this adorable wristlet:

I'm bummed I can't enter my own contest! I would love to win this!

How to Enter: Go to Roman McCall, take a look around, and come back here and tell me what other item you love from their shop.

Frecklebox- Review and Giveaway

When I came across this site Frecklebox, I absolutely fell in love with their stuff. Frecklebox has unique personalized gifts for kids. From books, to puzzles, to stickers, there is so much stuff to choose from and you can personalize each item with your kids name!

About the founders of Frecklebox: One guy’s name is Scott. The other one is Mark. Both guys dove into the baby making business over a decade ago. Even before that, in partnership, they created a printing and distribution business called Progressive Solutions. Both their kids and their company inspired Frecklebox. You see, as parents, these guys take the job of expanding their children’s minds very seriously. And as business people, they’ve been on a relentless mission to explore the possibilities of web-based digital printing. Presto. Frecklebox was born. Hopefully, a great big Frecklehead family will follow.

I've had the pleasure of working with Mark on this review/giveaway and he was the best to work with. He recommended a couple items for me based on Hunters age, the Zoo book and the race car puzzle. After shopping around on the website, I found those to be the best fit. I ordered the Zoo book with Hunters name and was so excited when it arrived. So imagine my surprise when I opened the box to find not only the personalized Zoo book, but also a personalized race car puzzle! I was not expecting the puzzle! Hunter Goes To The Zoo, is the name of his book now, and his name is incorporated into the story and also with this particular book his name is hidden in the pictures of the animals. My son is a big fan of hidden picture games, so the fact that it was HIS name that was hidden in the pictures was awesome for him.

Here is a video of Hunter sharing with you what he got from Frecklebox. Watch his face when he notices his name on the puzzle for the first time. Its an honest reaction. I apologize for the grainy picture, I don't have a video camera and this was done with my digital hand held camera.

So how would you like to win your own personalized item from Frecklebox?

Frecklebox has offered one of Miss Blondie's readers their choice of item personalized from their site!!

To Enter: Head over to Frecklebox and leave me a comment here telling me what item you would get and who it would be for if you won. I know it is a hard choice, they have so much great stuff.

For Extra Entries:

I am Miss Blondie, the mastermind behind this blog. I am a working single mom to a seven year old boy, Hunter. I'm super sarcastic and goofy. In the beginning months, I didn't blog too often but since the first of the year I've really picked up. Closet Purse Hanger Review

I was so happy to have a chance to review this product. I, like most women, have a purse addiction. When I'm not using one of my many purses, they get tossed up on the top of my closet. Not only is that unorganized and sloppy looking, but I can never find the purse I want. And I refuse to get rid of any of them. Imagine how giddy I got when I found the Closet Purse Hanger. You mean there's a way to hang my purses so they look neat? This is going to revolutionize my closet!

Here is a picture of my closet now with the Closet Purse Hangers.

Now, think about your own purses and closet. Wouldn't this look so much better than whatever you are doing with them now? I like the fact that they can be squished together and not take up that much space. The hangers fit nicely right on the rod too. On the website there is a list of 7 usage tips that really help you maximize your space. It is perfect for college students/dorm rooms, apartment living, as well as small, medium, large, or celebrity style walk-in closets. This is one of those, why didn't I think of that?

You can buy the Closet Purse Hangers for only $19.99 for a pack of 10. This is a great organizational tool that I love!

My Biggest Fear

Fear. We all have at least one thing we are afraid of. We must, right? I mean besides the obvious, fear of something happening to your child or loved ones, is there something that just absolutely scares the shit out of you?

I have one. And I get nauseaus in the pit of my stomach, sweaty palms, I start to shake, I'm completely frozen with fear, the works! Its pretty bad, its a real fear not just something I'm afraid of. Fortunately for me, its not something I encounter on a regular basis and I am able to keep away from it.

So you wanna know what it is?

Promise you wont laugh.

Ferris Wheels.

I know what you're thinking. What?! A ferris wheel?? But yes, its a legitimate fear of mine. I'm not sure why or how it started but I do remember when. I was 13 and at an amusement park with a bunch of friends. They had what was called the "Collossal" Ferris Wheel. So we all piled on. Well as soon as we got to the top and stopped, I started to panic. I was scared shit! I was crying and shaking, my friends had no idea what was wrong. As soon as we came back down, I made them stop and let me off.

I just can't do it. I'm not afraid of heights or rollercoasters or anything like that, just the damn ferris wheel. I can't stand when it stops at the top and swings, it freaks me out. I always feel like the stupid bucket thing i'm sitting in is gonna break off and fall.

I take Hunter to the local carnival when it comes to town every spring and when he was 3 he wanted to go on the ferris wheel. I thought that maybe since I was older, my fear would be gone and I could do it. Haha! Wrong!! About half way up, i started to panic. I froze up, started shaking, and the tears started streaming down my face. Of course, my boyfriend at the time was sitting across from me and started to move over to me to comfort me, but I freaked out because he was rocking it. Needless to say, as soon as we got back to the ground I made them stop and let me off.

Now, I wont even attempt to go on them. I let Hunter go on with someone else and he'll tell them, "Oh, my momma can't go on. She's afraid. She cries."

Yup, thats my biggest fear.

I got this acronym from the Urban Dictionary and I like it!!

FEAR

Fuck
Everything
And
Run

ChicBuds Review and Giveaway

*CLOSED*
I got my very first I-Pod for Christmas this year and I love it. What I didn't love about it was the earphones that come with it. Everytime I use them, they hurt my ears. Lucky for me, the wonderful people at ChicBuds have allowed me to review one of their earphones. They sent me white with watermelon Swarovski Crystals. Yes, the ChicBuds are adorned with genuine Swarovski Crystals. Not only are they super cute and stylish but what I love the most, is that they fit perfectly and comfortably in my ears. Another cool feature is they are retractable, so no more getting tangled, and with the retractable device, you can adjust the cord to 5 different lengths. They also have a belt clip on the retractor device, which is great because the cord isn't flapping around. ChicBuds have a large selection of colors and even some with designs on them, so there is a style for everyone.

How would you like to win your own pair of ChicBuds? One lucky reader has the chance to win the White earphones in Sour Apple. So you too can bop around with your I-Pod in style.

To enter this giveaway you must go to ChicBuds and tell me what other ChicBuds you like. This is mandatory, if you don't do this your entries will be disqualified.

Happy St. Patty's Day

The big thing around here for St. Patricks Day is the Southie parade. Every year South Boston holds an enormous St. Patty's Day parade on the sunday before March 17. The streets are filled with on-lookers from all over, completely decked out in green. Its so much fun to see what people show up in...talk about Irish spirit. The saying "Everyone is Irish on St. Patricks Day" holds true during the parade, however most of Southie is Irish. Its not even really all about the parade either, its about the parties before and after the parade. Good food and beer!

We go to the parade every year. My boyfriend lives in Southie and I work with a girl who lives there too, so we've always had a place to go. We usually enjoy the festivities before the parade, watch the parade which lasts 2 hours, and go back and enjoy some more festivities. Its the one constant of the year that we both look forward too.

So here are a few pictures from this years parade:

Miss Blondie and Hunter

My friends Angie and Alice:

And Miss Blondie and her boyfriend, and yes believe it or not, he is half Irish!!

You Are NOT A Hairdresser!

I need you all to remind me of this statement. I am NOT a hairdresser! I have this really bad habit of getting sick of Hunters hair when it gets too long and impulsively cutting it myself. Usually, i use kitchen scissors and do a half-way decent job.... I think. Although my friend Christina who is a hairdresser and probably reading this is shaking her head saying, "You suck!" Well, I think my days of butchering cutting his hair are over.

The other day, I had this 'great' idea that I was going to use my boyfriends buzzers and give my son a cool haircut. HAHA!! Yeah! That was my intention. Now, boyfriends buzzers do not have any settings on them or anything but me and my bright idea thought that I could just 'eyeball' it. I was going to give him a fade going up and then trim the top. Okay, thats not so easy when there is no settings on the clippers. My sons poor head ended up looking like a checker-board! I'm not even exaggerating. So, I admit that I completely butchered his hair.

We had to take him to Supercuts to fix it, and I had done such a job on his hair, the only thing she could do was give him a whiffle. Yup, she just had to buzz the rest of his head. He does look pretty cute, but he's so blonde that he almost looks bald. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures either, I think at the time I was just kicking myself over what I had done that all I could think of was getting it fixed. So, this is it. I am no longer going to attempt to cut his hair. At all.

Eden Fantasys Review

I had the most fun with this review!! Haha! How could I not?! First of all, look around you and make sure there are no kiddies in the room...this isn't exactly rated PG. Also, if you are shy or blush easily, then this review is not for you.

Sex. We all have it. So lets talk about it! Think about it for a minute. You're married with kids, you know your alone time is far and few between. Naturally, you make the most of those private moments you get with your significant other and you want to keep it exciting. Or maybe you are single. Well, my philosophy as a single woman is, "A girls got needs too." Either way, our lives as women need a little spicing up once in a while. And what better way to hit the big "O" than with a sex toy!

I got the pleasure (and i do mean pleasure) of reviewing the Dolly Dolphin II from Eden Fantasys. As you can probably tell, I am by no means a shy person...at all. I rarely blush, ever, so talking about this is fun for me. The Dolphin is a G-spot vibrator made from silicone. I was surprised by how soft the texture of the vibrator was and how easy it was to clean. The control part on the bottom was so easy to use!! It turns like a dial so you can adjust the speed easily with one finger while in use. And the best part of this adult toy....it was incredibly quiet! I was amazed by how quiet it was no matter how high it was because most of my other toys are vibrate much louder, so this was huge plus. I had a hard time trying to figure out how to open the bottom for the batteries but once i did, i had no problem taking it off and on.

Now, this was my first time using a G-Spot vibrator. I have regular vibrators but I was really excited to get to try a G-spot vibrator. And boy oh boy, what a difference! I don't think i've ever orgasmed so fast in my life! The tip of the dolphin hits that spot with such vibration and precision its instant gratification. It. Felt. Amazing. That's all I can say. A-MA-ZING!!

So, do yourself and your sex life a favor and head on over to Eden Fantasys and get yourself something fun...i HIGHLY recommend the Dolly Dolphin II.

Oh, and come back soon because you may just get your own chance to win an exciting adult gift here.

Review and Giveaway- My Hip-T

*CLOSED*

Alright ladies admit it, we've all had those times where we've had a plumbers crack, or muffin top, and even our thongs hanging out of jeans. Well No More! There is a solution. Its called a My Hip-T. Now, i personally absolutely love the layered look but i don't necessarily like all the bulkiness it adds up top. The Hip-T is the perfect way to get that look without all the layering. With the way jeans are made nowadays, unless your wearing "mom jeans," your jeans are probably sitting pretty low on your hips...i know mine are. Every time i bend down, my jeans slide down, and expose my very cute undies...however no one in the supermarket needs to see my Victorias Secret panties.

The wonderful girls at My Hip-T have so graciously sent me a Hip-T in basic white to review. Hands down one of the best products ever created for women! I can bend over, squat down and not have to worry about holding the back of my pants up or stretching my shirt way down to cover my crack. The Hip-T truly covered my unflattering problem. So you may not have the same problem as me, maybe you have muffin tops or that little extra belly pudge in the front that we moms are blessed with after having children. The Hip-T solves those problems too!
You can buy your own Hip-T for only $19.95 by visiting their website. Their Basics come in 12 different colors (to make your entire wardrobe), the Original come in 3 colors but with lace trim around the bottom, and also one sassy zebra print!

Breast-feeding in public

A new law has been passed in our nations smallest state, Rhode Island. As of today, mothers have the right to breast-feed in public under a new law. Previously, there was nothing stating mothers couldn't breast-feed in public however there was nothing in place that directed business to allow it either. This new law also gives mothers the right to sue businesses or others who violate their right. I'm hoping this will start a new trend for all states to pass similar laws. I am pleased that this state has recognized that there is nothing wrong with women breast-feeding in public. I feel that this is a great day for breast-feeding mothers. This has been such a controversial debate for so long and i think this law is long overdue.
