What Happens In Vegas....

Gets posted online!! I am back from my weekend trip to Vegas!! I seriously had the best time. Everything in Vegas is so grand in scale and over the top its incredible to see. I think everyone should go to Vegas at least once, just to experience it. Even if you don't gamble or party, there is still so much to see.

So our plane left at about 6pm on friday from Boston and unfortunately I didn't get to sit with any of my friends. However, I was in the middle seat and on my left was a plastic surgeon how odd is that because I am an OR nurse! So we actually ended up knowing quite a few of the same people. And on my right was a 25 year old Poker champ on his way back home to Vegas from a tournament in France!! He was such a nice guy too, he was watching a DVD and let me plug my headphones into it so I could watch it too! We chatted for a while, I told him about my blog and he has already visited and left me a comment! HI SCOTT :) !!

Our flight got in around 9pm Vegas time, so we checked into our hotel....the Luxor ( the pyramid) and got ready to go out. Angie and I met a bunch of our guy friends at Tryst at the Wynn which apparently is the "hot" new place in Vegas. The guys had gotten a table right by the dancefloor and kept ordering bottle after bottle of Vodka. The best part about all these guys is that they ALL dance. Its very rare that you hang out with a bunch of guys who dance, but these guys were so much fun. We stayed out until about 4am and got back to the hotel and crashed! We had set our alarm for 9am so we could get up, go eat breakfast, and get ready for the pool at Mandalay Bay. I think we maybe got to the pool around 11am. One of our friends had bought a cabana for the day (which was so cool) at the 21 plus pool. The atmosphere at this pool was amazing. Everyone was walking around with drinks in hand, some were dancing...Angie, and the DJ was bumping out some great tunes. And since this pool was 21+ and European style it was topless. There weren't that many topless women. I'm sure we all know from my previous posts, that I am not shy or modest....and it was my first time in Vegas, so I did go topless for a little while. Now I can say, yes I did go to a topless pool and braved being topless for a bit.

We stayed at the pool until 5pm then went inside Mandalay Bay to a bar to watch the Boston Celtics game....which thankfully they won!! Woo Hoo!! After the game, Angie and I went back to our hotel, napped for a couple hours and rallied ourselves to go back out! We met the guys this time at The Mixx which is at the top of The Hotel. Again we were there until about 4am, so afterwards we just kinda hung out in the casino and had to leave for the airport at 5:30. So, for the first time in YEARS....Miss Blondie pulled an all nighter! Lucky for me I was able to sleep on the plane.

My trip was awesome! I do wish I had just one more day so I could do a little more sightseeing. I'm the type of person that simple things excite me (like seeing palm trees and the mountains) and when I travel I want to see EVERYTHING. This trip was a first of many things for me. It was my first time outside the Eastern time zone, first time I was on a plane for more than 2 1/2 hours, and obviously my first time in the Western part of the country. I didn't do any gambling, I think I played maybe 3 slot machines, but I did party like a rockstar!

But now its back to reality...work and motherhood.

Viva Las Vegas!!

Last night, I went out and celebrated my newly Single life with my girls and some guy friends. And of course, we partied like rockstars. We went to two bars, had some yummy shots, and quite a few vodka-cranberries during the night. My ex had called me several times...its funny how they always want you back when they know you are out having fun and over them. Don't worry, I don't go back to my exes...ever. Your ex is your ex for a reason! Thats my motto.

So anyways, I crashed at my friend Angies house and somehow at the end of the night we ended up with a trip booked for Vegas in May!! How the hell did that happen? I've never been to Vegas before, so I'm super excited to go but we obviously didn't think it through....or at all. We were so impulsive. We both woke up this morning saying, "Dude, we're going to Vegas. Haha." Which ulitmately means I have 5 weeks to get my body into bikini shape!!

O Say Can You See....

Miss Blondie is back from D.C. We officially flew back in last night around 6:30pm. And what an amazing time we had! So, right off the bat i have finally decided on a name to refer to my new man as on my blog. Its about damn time too! He'll be known as Mr. Bear...because he's my teddy bear!! Hehe! Anyways, we'll just get to the good stuff. We flew out on thursday afternoon and i haven't been on a plane in seven years, so my anxiety level was threw the roof. But the flight was fine, a little windy on the landing, but i made it. We were floored by our rental car...it was a cute little sportscar. Let me tell you about our hotel. We stayed at the Washington Court Hotel right by the Capitol in a King Suite room. The room and hotel were amazing. I'm talking big bucks. But thanks to Hotwire it only cost us $89 a night....can you say steal?? If you haven't used Hotwire before, oh man i highly recomment it...so worth it. They put us up in a King Suite room at a 4 star hotel!! C'mon people thats a deal and a half! Once we settled in we drove around the capitol, went to Georgetown and ended up at Dupont Circle for dinner.

Friday morning we were up at 7:30...that is the crack-ass of dawn when you are on vacation i might add. We saw soo much on friday. We did the monument, the memorials, the white house, and the smithsonians. And what would a trip be without a memorable "blonde" moment. Are you ready for this? Its actually quite embarrassing to tell you all that this really came out of my mouth but here goes. Mr. Bear and i are walking up to the white house and i say, "Ohmigod, look its so white!!" The look he gave me said it all. And i proceeded with, "I know its a white house, but its really white. Like bleach white." Okay, so i know I may sound dumb, but really it looked bleached...i mean it was in between two white buildings and it was much whiter. I guess i was just surprised. So, after dinner friday we met up with a college friend of Mr. Bear who lives in Arlington and went out for drinks.

So Saturday was Valentines Day and we got up just as early. I got breakfast in bed from my man and got right to the sightseeing afterwards. We did Madame Toussad's Wax Museum...which was soo much fun, the zoo (highly recommend), and Fords Theater. Mr. Bears friend was able to pull some strings and get us a last-minute reservation at Old Ebbets Grill for dinner which was incredible. Its nice to know peeps with connections. And he told me that he loved me that night. *Cue the awwws*

And yesterday we did all of Arlington National Cemetery before our flight. We saw the changing of the guards and a ceremonial wreath placing at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We were able to cram so much sight-seeing during our trip and still didn't see everything. What we didn't realize until late on saturday was that this was Lincoln's 200th birthday so the places were mobbed during the weekend, so we were lucky we did most stuff on friday because it wasn't busy at all then.

So now for the juicy stuff. I've already told you that he said "I love you." which of course i said it back...how could i not! The man is perfect! For the whole four days we were together, i never once got sick of him or anything. That is highly unusual for me. I usually need my "alone" time at some point but i didn't feel like that with him. I can honestly say i felt like i was on vacation with one of my friends...thats how well we got along. Sure we had a couple little disagreements but i can't stay mad at him for long and he wants to make up immediately. So, i like the way he fights...thats important. We both wanted to see the same sites and do the same toursty things...it was great! Everything from start to finish of this trip worked in our favor, no glitches! So all in all, my first time at our Nations Capitol was a success!!

Naughty Nighties, No, No.

Valentines Day is one week away and as we all know Miss Blondie is going to D.C. with her new man. Naturally, i went shopping today for some naughty lingerie. Call me a cheap ass, whatever, i refuse to buy lingerie at the over priced Victorias Secret. I buy my underwear from their Pink line and that is all. Plus, i dont like the way the bras fit me. So anyways, i went to the mall in search of some sexy little panties and bra sets only to come up empty handed. 2 hours of my life....wasted. Why is Vicky's the only store in the entire two story mall that sells lingerie?? Why is there no competitor for cheapasses like me??

I then trekked myself off to Kohls...and do you think i found anything?!?

Oh, of course not! Actually, thats not entirely true, i did find something cute but it looked TERR.I.BLE on!

Another hour of my life...down the drain.

Ever notice that whenever you are not looking for something (like lingerie) you can find it everywhere, but the minute you need it...no where! I'm now gonna head to the place i probably should have gone the first time....Target! That place has everything....i'm hoping i'll have better luck there. I need some naughty nighties. Its my first trip with this guy, and no kids, i have to look sexy!

Our Nations Capital

Yup, that's where i'll be a week from tomorrow. For the very first time ever i am going on a trip to Washington, D.C. Our flight leaves thursday afternoon and we will be getting back sunday evening. Who is this we that i am referring too?? Miss Blondie and Hunter??

Nope.

Miss Blondie and her new guy. Yes, remember the dates i went on a few weeks back?? Well things have been going great since then and he is taking me on this trip. He sort of planned it as a surprise for Valentines day weekend. He wanted to make it special. (Insert)-awwws. Sweet isn't it? Now, why D.C. you might ask. Well, i have never been and i have been dying too. I just want to see all the sites...i'm kinda a touristy geek. I want to take lots and lots of pictures and see as much as i can. Hunter is not going with us....hey, its Valentines day weekend...kids kinda ruin the romance a bit, kwim? But actually, this will be the longest i've ever been out of the state without Hunter. Hope i do okay.

I'm very excited for this trip. This relationship is starting to look promising (fingers crossed). Last week during one of the snowstorms, he came over in the morning before i left for work, cleaned my car off and brought me Dunkin Donuts! I realize this is still in the "honeymoon" stage but lets give him some credit for it. I still haven't come up with a "clever" name to refer to him as on my site...but i'm hoping my brain will get creative soon.

Weekend in Philly

I'm back from my weekend roadtrip to Philly with the girls!! I had so much fun!! I seriously need to get out more because i really enjoyed the 6 hour car ride too. Saturday we left pretty early in the morning and headed out. We got to our hotel around 4:30. We stayed at the nice Double Tree...and the beds were super comfy! I wanted to take home the pillows and sheets. After check in, we walked to the convention center to get Alice's number for the marathon and had dinner afterwards.

We got back to the hotel around 7pm, and we were exhausted! The party animals we are were in bed and asleep by like 8pm. I think we were just so tired from the long drive. Not one of us was motivated to go out to a bar....at all!

Sunday, Alice left before 7am to get to the race and Angie and I were gonna meet her at the finish line. We left only about an hour after her, got directions from the woman at the hotel desk and headed towards the finish......Or so we thought.
About 45 minutes into walking around the entire city of Philly we were walking with the "walkers" of the marathon. We passed by mile marker 7.
Oh yeah, totally no where near we needed to be.
We were over by all the Universities.
Walked down frat row.

Every cop we asked had no idea where the finish line was and just kept saying we had a ways to go. I think they thought we were part of the race...yeah...in our jeans with our Dunkin Donuts coffees!

Finally, someone told us the finish line was at the Rocky steps and told us how to get there. So, after an hour of "touring" the city, we finally made it to the finish line. However, we had completely missed Alice!! We were really bummed because that was the whole reason we were there. But after the race we did some sightseeing.

We ran up the Rocky steps:

Found some random gigantic game pieces:
Sorry gamepiece:
Monopoly's wheelbarrel:

A giant domino:

Saw the Liberty Bell:

Went to the Southside for Philly Cheesesteaks:

Mmmm...Yummy!!

and headed home for our 6 hour drive back:

Yup, all in one day!! I've got tons of great pics!! Philly was a great city. Lots of history. Next time, i'd like to do a little more sightseeing but i'm pretty satisfied with what i saw this time.

Philly Roadtrip!

I am going on an all-girl Roadtrip this weekend!! That's right, no kids!! I can't even begin to tell you how excited i am. I, obviously, don't get out much! I don't travel. Not that i dont LOVE traveling, i just don't have the means to do it. I LOVE seeing new places and taking Tons of pictures. Which is exactly what i intend to do this weekend.

We're roadtripping to Philly. It's supposed to be a long 6 hour drive, but for me, i'm completely stoked! I've never taken a roadtrip before. And i've never been to Philly. Actually, pathetically, i can list the places i've been outside of Massachusetts on just two hands. I dont even have a passport! So, even a trip this small really is HUGE to me! As if you couldn't tell already just by reading my blog....little things always excite me!

I'm going with my friend Angie and her friend Alice who is running the half-marathon on sunday. We're leaving Saturday morning and i'm really hoping that we can see some sites on saturday after we arrive. Thats really all i wanna do. I want to see as much as i can and take plenty of pictures. Oh, and i have to have a Philly Cheesesteak too! We plan to leave on sunday night after the race. I just realized i'm not working monday so double bonus!! Bring on the long drive!

Hunter is going to spend the weekend at my grandmothers house with some of his cousins. He's thrilled. He's making me drop him off tomorrow so he can spend an extra day with them!! I'll be sure to post some pics on monday and tell you all about my mini-vaca!! Aaahh....two full days with no kids....BLISS!!
