Purex 3-in-1 Sheets

I unfortunately did not get chosen to be a Purex Insider. I did, however, get the opportunity to test out their new Purex Complete 3-in-1 Laundry sheets. It's a single sheet with detergent, softener, and anti-static all in one. No more pouring, no more buying big heavy bottles, no measuring, and no more messes. It completely simplifies the way we do laundry. I hate doing laundry, so anything that makes it much easier to do I'll try.

They are extremely simple to use:
  • Just drop the sheet in the washer (standard or high-efficiency), the blue detergent portion of the sheet is released during the wash cycle.
  • Once the wash cycle is completely, transfer the laundry sheet with your clothes to the dryer.
  • The color stripe is heat activated by the dryer to soften and remove static. That's it!
I received the Spring Oasis scent, which I could smell through the box and thought, "this is gonna be overpowering." Honestly, I was very skeptical as to how well my clothes would get clean with just one sheet to do all the work. But as a reviewer, I'm open to anything. I did two loads of laundry. One white load and one bright colors. Usually with the whites, because of how black Hunters socks get, I add a TON of bleach. I decided not to use any bleach at all so I could really just test out the Purex sheets. It was so much easier doing my laundry without the multiple products you can't even imagine. I just dropped the sheet into the washer and never thought about it again. It got all mixed in with my clothes, so when i threw the clothes in the dryer I never even saw it. Of course, i double checked the washer to make sure there were no missing socks, so I knew the sheet had made it into the dryer.

The Results: My whites came out whiter than they normally do when I add bleach. I was shocked! And my bright colors were still nice and bright. The scent was NOT overpowering on my clothes at all. In fact, my clothes smelled so good. My clothes were clean and soft and static free.

So overall, I was really impressed with these laundry sheets. I even told the girls on the Momdot forum how much I loved them, and some of them who also tried them agreed. I will proudly say, that Purex has turned me into a believer and a customer! I will be using these sheets from now on to do my laundry. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!

Glitterful Felt Stories BlogHer '09 Scholarship

Glitterful Felt Stories

Glitterful Felt Stories loves bloggers and have decided to host a BlogHer '09 $100 scholarship! One lucky blogger will win $100 cash to take with her to BlogHer '09. Since I recently got a ticket to BlogHer, I am in desperate need of scholarships! I'm a little behind the eight ball because of getting a ticket so late. With this scholarship I could pay for the Momdot blogger dinner that I plan on attending, or I could put it towards my hotel room or even airfare. So many things I need this money for.

At Glitterful Felt Stories you can find felt stories based on books, numbers and math felt sets, glove puppet with felt sets, and fingerplays & songs. I know first hand how hard it is to get kids interested in literacy and I personally love the idea behind this product. Promoting literacy in a fun, educational, and interactive way always get's an A plus in my book.

Want to know about Glitterful Felt Stories!

Shelby Barone is the founder and owner of Glitterful Felt Stories. She has an amazing passion for literacy in young children. She was a preschool teacher for over ten years, and has her degree in Early Childhood Education. During her time teaching her passion for literacy began. She was able to see how much young children can benefit from reading and the use of felt stories. She has been creating and donating them to local schools, teachers, churches, libraries and charities since 1995. It was not until the past couple of years that she started to sell her felt stories to help with the cost of her youngest son Tyler's medical expenses, who suffers from a life threatening disease called Neutropenia. . The charities loved how she created her felt pieces using glitter and sparkles to help catch the children's eyes, that they started calling her Glitterful Felt Stories! Glitterful Felt Stories still donates most of their inventory to local charities. Their goal is to get children excited about reading....one story at a time!

The winner of the scholarship can give away 2 felt stories to a reader of their choice that leaves a comment in their post. So ya see, just by leaving me a comment here to help me, you're giving yourself a chance to one of these great gifts!! How cool is that?!

So please help me win this scholarship by leaving me a comment about your favorite Glitterful Felt Stories.

Like Pigs At A Trough During Feeding Time

Not sure if many of you know this or not but this past Saturday at Old Navy was there $1 flip-flop sale. What you probably already know from my previous posts is that I am a total flip-flopaholic...yup its a word, I just made it up.

So of course, I just haaaddd to go on Saturday morning to get me some deals. I got to the nearest Old Navy at about 9:30 am and had a feeling it would be busy, but what I encountered was something more like Black Friday. At this time there were already huge lines at the checkout and the flip-flops were sparse and also spread throughout the store. It was actually kind of exciting trying to find where they put all the women's flip flops...you see this is a very small Old Navy.

Anyways, I calmly looked for flip flops in my size and just about any color that would have it. I'm a size 7 and so is most of the female population. After about 10 minutes I noticed there was an influx in women...yes most of the flip flop buyers were women. The sales associates would bring out boxes filled with flip flops and just set them down anywhere just to replenish the stock on the floor.

I'm not even lying when I tell you the women attacked those boxes like pigs at a trough during feeding time! .

I even have a battle wound to prove it! Not kidding, a huge chunk of my skin off my knuckles is hanging on some rack at Old Navy. And since I was getting shoved out of the way by these Linebackers, I decided to play dirty.

Oh.

Yes.

I.

Did.

I sent little ole' Hunter in between these beasts and their legs to find my size. Is that stooping low? I think not! I was smart. And besides, that's one of the many perks of having kids.

After getting 10 pairs in 10 fabulous colors, I stood in line at the checkout for a good 30 minutes. There was a 5 pair limit per customer, so instead of only getting 5 or going back to the end of the line to stand there for another 30 minutes, you can bet your ass I handed my son a $5 bill and made him purchase my other 5 pairs right behind me. Smart again! I even influenced the woman standing behind me to do the same. Hey, kids are consumers too.

Did I really need 10 pairs of flip flops in every color of the rainbow? Yup.

Wet Giggles- Review

As a mom of one very active and usually dirty boy, especially his fingernails, I'm always trying to find ways to get them clean. What is it with boys and their always nasty dirty fingernails? Allow me to introduce to you all Wett Giggles. Wett Giggles is a nail brush encased in soap with a cute animal toy on top. Each soap is handmade from natural glycerin, and is made one at a time with essential oils and shea butter. Each soap is colorful and scented in yummy scents such as watermelon, coconut banana, grape, etc. The Wett Giggles animals even have names and if you notice, they are all Shakespearean names. There are nine total and all but two come with nail brushes in them. The two that don't are geared more for your toddlers whose little fingers can't handle the brushes.

We received Hamlet (the frog)-watermelon scent and Ophelia (the duck)-lemon essential oil. Hunter thought they were the cutest things and couldn't wait to wash his hands with them. The scents are not overpowering at all, they smell good actually. And I was happy that these soaps get pretty sudsy too. It takes a few washes before the brush starts to appear but Hunter said that was the fun part. He said, "Its pretty cool because you don't know when the brush is gonna pop out." Even when the soap is all gone, he's still gonna have this nail brush with a toy attached to it...and that will keep him interested in cleaning his nails. So all in all I'd say this product is a hit with my son. And I like the fact that he actually enjoys cleaning his finger nails now.

Wett Giggles are reasonably priced and there are three purchasing options. Soap with nail brush $10, soap w/out nail brush $8, and toys w/out soap $5. Something for everyone. If you're trying to promote good hygiene in your house and can't stand dirty fingernails then I would recommend these soaps.

And for my readers Wett Giggles is offering a 2 for the price of 1 deal! You can't go wrong. Especially if you have a son and a daughter, they can each get their own! In order to cash in on this amazing deal use code Carvpj09 and it is case sensitive.
